Hua Hin Championship Road Race 2026 set for 1 March

March 1
Whats on in Thailand

The Hua Hin Championship Road Race 2026 will take place on Sunday 1 March, bringing competitive and recreational cyclists to the roads around Huay Mongkol for a full day of racing and touring in the Hua Hin area.

Organised by the Hua Hin Cycling Club, the event will start and finish at Wat Huay Mongkol and is expected to attract riders from across the region. Two main categories will be offered: an 80-kilometre competitive road race and a 40-kilometre non-competitive touring ride.

Online registration is open until 31 January 2026 at 11.59pm, or until all available places are filled.

Race routes and categories for 2026

Organisers say the route has been designed to balance competitive racing with an enjoyable riding experience, passing through the Huay Mongkol Reservoir area and surrounding countryside. The course features rolling terrain and several longer climbs, providing a physical challenge while highlighting landscapes familiar to local cyclists.

The 80km competitive race is open to road bikes only and includes general and age-group categories for both men and women. New age divisions have been introduced for 2026, including 60–64 and 65-plus categories. Trophies will be awarded to riders finishing from first to tenth place in every competitive category.

The 40km touring ride is non-competitive and open to riders of all ages. All bicycle types are permitted except electric bikes. While there is no official ranking, special prizes will be awarded, including for the team with the most participants, the oldest rider, and the youngest rider.

Entry fees are set at 890 baht for the 80km competitive race and 790 baht for the 40km touring category.

Prizes, entry fees and rider support

Prize money will be awarded to the top three finishers in each competitive category, with champion jerseys presented to category winners. In the men’s general category, first place carries a cash prize of 10,000 baht, while the women’s general category offers 7,000 baht for first place. Age-group winners in both men’s and women’s races will also receive cash prizes.

All registered participants will receive an event T-shirt and a finisher medal. Riders will also be provided with bib numbers, timing chips for competitive races, group life insurance for online registrants, and on-course support from race marshals.

Food and refreshments are included, with breakfast, drinks, and lunch provided on race day. Medical support, including ambulance services, will be available throughout the event, and a lucky draw with additional prizes will be held after the races.

The Hua Hin Championship Road Race has become a regular fixture on the local cycling calendar, drawing riders from across Prachuap Khiri Khan and neighbouring provinces. Organisers say the 2026 edition aims to build on previous years by expanding age categories, improving rider services, and maintaining a strong focus on safety and organisation.
